Galaxy S3 vs. HTC One X/Evo 4G LTE!

So, you want to know if Galaxy S3 or HTC One X/Evo 4G LTE is better?

Well, here’s my honest thoughts about the 3 different phones. If you asked me about the major features that make Galaxy S3 stand above HTC One X and Evo 4G LTE, I would tell you with a straight-face that the Galaxy S3 has much better camcorder abilities and replaceable back cover that allows for you to go on days with extra batteries.

On the other hand, if you are not a power user and you always have a micro-USB charger in handy, the HTC One X or Evo 4G LTE are great choices also. HTC One X and Evo 4G LTE clearly has edge on the Galaxy S3 with its continuous shooting mode and gallery app that complements it by organizing the photos neatly.

It all boils down to the camcorder and removable battery versus design and continuous shooting mode. There are many other features of each phone but to me, those were the most important core differences between the two phones.

As for performance, the Exynos 1.4Ghz quad-core on the international version of Galaxy S3 is the fastest, followed by international HTC One X Tegra 3 quad-core, and then the U.S. versions of Galaxy S3/One X/Evo 4G LTE which all possess Qualcomm S4 1.5Ghz dual-core. A lot of people say Qualcomm s4 dual-core may be faster in some tests/benchmarking but I clearly found that when it comes down to pure “CPU raw processing power”, Exynos 1.4Ghz quad-core wins downright.

But remember whether you run Exynos 1.4Ghz quad-core, Tegra 3 1.5Ghz quad-core, or the Qualcomm S4 dual-core 1.5Ghz, you are going to have zero problems running the latest apps and games at super-blazing speeds. All of chips will run at least 2-3 times faster than any of the older Android smartphone on the market so you can’t really go wrong with any of them.

For purists and people too high on Android (who must have the best of the latest), you will definitely want to get the “hacker phone of the year”, the Galaxy S3, which you can also root in just 5 minutes tops. (See How to Root Galaxy S3). And that is without a doubt going to be the most popular Android smartphone for the year 2012, I guarantee it.
